Conversion of farm buildings into three homes
Aerial view

This project, for a private developer, involved the conversion of a redundant Nottinghamshire farmyard into three prestigious houses in the village of Egmanton. Situated at the focus of the settlement, it was vitally important to retain the agricultural character of the buildings. The service included advice on the size & layout of the dwellings, choice of materials and overall external landscaping. Negotiations were conducted with the local authority Conservation Officers, Planning Officers and Building Inspector. Particular technical challenges included the provision of acceptable, foul drainage on a low-lying site, and detailed design of the external joinery. Additional services included provision of presentation material to assist in marketing the properties.
